I would really like to go to that. I must discuss this with the parents. I have over a month to get over there so I think I could convince them, it's not like I have to go tomorrow only or something.
I finally watched Loser, it's a good movie, I like the music that was in it (Wheatus!).
I also saw Ocean's Twelve last night with Carolyn, Tasha, and my sister. It was done very well. There was a neat plot twist at the end. But they seem to have ignored that fact that Catherine Zeta Jones
does not look French, and she looked nothing like the person who plays her father.
My brother went home, I have my room back now.
I have a bunch of songs on my iPod I haven't heard before and I keep getting surprised. I have no idea what the song I just heard was or who it was by.
I'll end with a quote from my dear friend Christina, "Joey Morrow is going?! Now I
have to go!"

The day after Christmas is always lazy. I decided to do something productive. I consider taking pictures of my new gopher/squirrel/groundhog/beaver productive.

'Tis the season.
Merry Christmas!
Frohliche Weinachten!
Feliz Navidad!
I'm trilingual. Okay, not really, but I can pretend.
Hope you are having/had a good Christmas. I am/did. I think I hit the jackpot this time. Yes, I seem to be spoiled. I recieved:
-My Ipod, it was a Christmas present even though I got it early.
-A Speedball screen printing kit.
-New X-Acto knife (with safety cap so I don't hurt myself) and blades.
-A self-healing mat.
-A FM transmitter and case for my Ipod.
-Pajama pants from my brother, I picked them out.
-Earrings from my sister.
I also got a late birthday present last night, a $40 gift certificate for amazon.com from my Uncle. He put LOL in the ecard that came with it. I found it hilarious.
My parents say I came up short compared to my brother and sister so my mom might take me to this art store in Oakland to get more screen printing stuff.
Oh, my mom got my dad a digital camera, but he's gonna return it to get a better one. My dad got my mom a digital camcorder. She loves it. I can't wait to use it.
My sister got her computer (she bought that herself with part of her "college fund"), a dvd burner for it, an AV suite for it, speakers for it, a dvd player, and a flat-screen tv (not flat panel but just a flat screen). She's ready to make movies.
My brother got a 200gb external hard drive, his Ipod, a case for it, spices and tools for his apartment, and some other stuff I think.
Yeah, my dad splurged. He likes using a credit card, or debit whatever it is.
I suck at wrapping things. I wish I had taken a picture of my mom's presents. They looked like a five-year-old did it. Actually, a five-year-old probably would have done a better job.
I'm done, carry on.
[Edit: I realized two things when reading over this post: 1, I'm practically asking people to break in while we're out; 2, A lot of that was just so that I can remember what people got.]
12/23/2004
manila garden.
"Oh no, I'm allergic to my liver!"
My brother amuses me, and confuses my sister.
EDIT.
No clue who made it, it's been passed around, but I am in love. This will be a shirt, one day. Would you like one, Lauren?

We were bombarded by viewers.
I've been making presents for people. My bed is covered in sequins, glitter, beads, pieces of wire, and little rocks. That last one sounds a little out of place. My internet connection is going crazy. It keeps logging me off. In fact, as I type this, I am disconnected. Of course, I'll have to reconnect before I try to post or all of this will be gone.
I was going to put in a few pictures of our latest shenanigans at the village, but I don't feel like resizing and uploading them at the moment.
I am now knitting an Ipod cozy for my brother for Christmas. That means I got new yarn. :)

question.
What should I name my Ipod?
12/17/2004
Where the dogfish ruff-blub, and the catfish meow-blub...
I love my Ipod. It's so cute. I'm knitting a little sweater for it, I mean a cozy, or case, or whatever you want to call it. It will be cute. No turkey basters this time.
Today I tried some vegan food. Here's what I discovered;
Vegan marshmallows: very sweet, kind of gritty, but basically a marshmallow.
Vegan chocolate chip cookies: all bad, gray, gritty, gross.
Vegan carrot cupcakes from Josh and Angela: very tasty, much thanks to them.
This was the best school-christmas ever, I believe. I think everyone that I had a present for liked it. I will have everyone else's soon. Aw, I really wanted to keep the snail cuff I made for Anna. I will be sure to force her to wear it once I get my camera back. I'm glad she liked it. She gave me a very nice present, too, beach themed foam stamps that I will use for fabric paint. I'm going to decorate my backpack with some of them.
Okay, back to the cozy knitting.
i kept it out of habit and i kept it real clean
My beloved sewing machine was misbehaving today, it broke 2 needles. It's on time out. Sorry Stephanie, I very well can't finish your purse by hand, so you'll get it over break sometime.
My Ipod arrived, on Tuesday. This makes me angry. My parents hid it from me. But my mom finally gave it to me because I checked the tracking number and saw it had been delivered. They can't hide anything from me!
I made presents. :) They are pretty. One has snails (not real ones, embroidered ones). None of them are wrapped. I think I'll use some tissue paper and a marker in the morning.
I had tests in all of my classes. I didn't know about one of them. Not fun.

silver bells...
I wish I had musical talent. My uncle was in a (new wave) band, my dad was a singer, my grandma's cousin sings and plays multiple instruments, and my grandparents on my mom's side could both dance (okay, it's not technically musical talent). WHERE DID THOSE GENES GO?
I have no grace, I can barely keep a beat, and I gave up on guitar after 6 lessons. I have no will-power or passion to keep me interested in something. I am extremely surprised that I even post to this thing as often as I do.
Danny, you better not say anything like "just pick it up and start playing." That's not how it works for me. Even if I like doing something it can be very hard to get myself to do it. I guess I'm just
that lazy.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch.
I've been using Manda's camera again.
I needed a coaster, so I made one. (excuse the bad quality, I didn't realize I made the picture so small)
When you set it to take night pictures, the camera makes people look like ghosts. It's neat.
Want to know what I heard in homeroom? Cyrus is now the singer of Fat Kid Running.
Did they finally get rid of the asshole known as Ben? Not that it matters.

Kangaroos
I GOT MY 'ROOS!
They're even cooler in person, and quite comfortable. I think it might be hard for my Ipod to beat them, it'll probably be a tie.
Today was a good day.
I dyed my hair. So now I'm sitting here with "black cherry" hair, listening to Radiohead, and taking a break from knitting to blog about my day. I'm so damn cool. I'm knitting a scarf for my grandma. You'd think it would be the other way around, wouldn't you? I don't think she knits. Anyway, I'm using turkey basters as needles because they're huge and make it really fast and make the scarf look really neat. But I look really weird while working on it. I think I will have to knit myself one when I'm done.
So, I did not complete my present goals for the day, but I WILL get them all done by Friday. If yours isn't done you can kick me. But not too hard, Manda gave me a bruise earlier. Damn, now she's going to sleep so I have to turn my music off.
I think I'll go back to my knitting now. G'night.
(I think I might be just a bit spoiled...)

productivity.
This has been an enjoyable and productive weekend.
On Friday I burned a cd for Carolyn and made her something pretty to hold it in. We went and saw Suessical. Bottom line: CVHS is full of great singers, money, snobs, and a few good people. Then I stayed the night at her house. The next day we started decorating for Christmas. I love cheesy decorations like singing and dancing snowmen.
Then my sister made me go shopping with her for presents for friends. I got chalk, hair clips, and a soda. I'm not buying anyone a present.
Later on, after I went home, I tried to do a chalk stencil on my walkway. It looks like two lines of chalk. It didn't turn out very well. When that failed I decided to sew something. I started on a project.
Today I finished the project, with my wonderful sewing machine.
Isn't it cute?
Here's what I made. They're cuff thingies.
Some people will be getting them for Christmas.
Now it's time for math homework, then, hopefully more sewing or something.
12/10/2004
oh, tannenbaum...
I took those this morning before school, but it got worse. I wish I had had my camera at school, the field was hidden. And yes, I realize that most, if not all, of the people that read this go to my school and know all of this already, but I'm writing it anyway.
I can't wait for my shoes and Ipod get here. I'm so excited! I had been saving for my Ipod since around September, maybe August.
I have work to do. I need to burn Carolyn a cd before I see her tonight. We're going to see Suessical at CVHS. I'm making her "The Best Music You've Never Heard" filled with just that. And I hope to make her a felt cd cozy to hold it. I want to stencil something onto Danny's skateboard that he left at my house, but I'm not sure what. I should put flowers or something, I'm sure he'd like that....
Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go.
12/09/2004
believe me, natalie.
I redecorated. This blog, I mean, as you can see. It's not quite done yet, it could be prettier and there's a few things that need to be fixed, but for now, enjoy the hot air balloon.
I miss my digital camera, I left it at my aunt's house. Manda let me play with her's earlier, but it wasn't the same. I took a picture of some onions.
I swear I found it like that when I walked in, I did not arrange it for the picture. I tried planting an onion once, it just got a tall stalk, no flower. It reminded me of Amelia Bedelia. Those were some weird books.
I ordered my Ipod, finally. Here's what the back will look like.
I also ordered some of the coolest shoes in the entire world. They should be here by Monday.
And, in case you were wondering, this is what I did with the stars Joey gave me for my birthday.
Okay, well I've done enough today, time for bed.
Stephanie and I are too cool for AIM, we Gmailed it back and forth for at least an hour.

"Random indie quotes are rad!"
"We are beautiful like words." -
Elijah Wyman
I enjoy words. Big words, old words, obscure words, foreign words, pretty words, descriptive words, compound words, words in general. I like talking to people, I like writing, I like reading, I like listening to well written songs and singing along. I used to write poems and I thought they were all really neat. When I look back at them I realize most of them weren't worth the paper I wrote them on. People say a picture is worth a thousand words, but pictures can't express feelings and thoughts like words can. You see a picture of people getting married, you can see that they love each other, but to what extent? They'd have to tell you, in words. I need a good thesaurus and a dictionary of my own. There is a chart of copyreaders' marks in our journalism books from the seventies, I want it as a poster. I need to find out where teachers get the grammar posters we all saw in our elementary school classrooms. I am beginning to see the beauty of punctuation. When used correctly, punctuation can take a sentence and give it completely new meaning.
See? Even when I
try to stick to one subject it ends up jumpy and speckled with random sentences that don't fit quite right.
Someone buy me "Eats, Shoots & Leaves" by Lynne Truss, please. Maybe you should get a copy for the Haypress staff, too, they could use a little direction.
I was looking at the Castro Valley
Forum today, and under one picture, where the caption would usually be, it just said "Caption." Nice.
And, in closing,
12/06/2004
Update.
I was successfully distracted by:
-the wind
-pizza
-the lj world
-meine gute freundin Stephanie
-thinking and/or imagining
-gmail from my brother containing interesting song combinations and remixes
Despite all that I finished the article and my paper describing the differences between the story and movie versions of Maurice Walsh's "The Quiet Man." Is 128 words over the limit too many? Oh well, it would be even worse without those 128 words. It needs them, unless Mr. Joe can do without and's, or's, it's, the's, and so on. I don't think my math homework will get done tonight, I'm tired of working. I'll think I will go to sleep now, 11 is late enough. And the rain sounds pretty.
bahumbug.
It sure is a small world. Now I'm afraid to post about it because there are connections out there. Dagnabbit.
Anyway, the Sun Gallery thing was neat. Definitely entertaining. Drunk people are selfish conversationalists.
The movie outing was a success, almost wasn't, but we made it in time. Next time I'm planning a week in advance and having everyone come earlier, but not
too early.
I have
a lot of ties. Who wants something made of ties? Anyone?
As of the moment, I'm not in a very good mood. I have a lot of homework that I should be doing. I hate that it's impossible for me start on anything as soon as it's assigned. My work always comes out like crap and takes me forever to do if I don't wait until the last moment.
If you know of anything that could cheer me up and distract me, let me know.

You and I are more alike than we may ever know
I spent at least ten minutes watching the blue-jays in my plum tree today. I have a nice view of it from my bedroom window. They were just hopping around and chirping at each other, it looked like they were playing. It was all very picturesque, but I left my camera at my aunts house and we haven't gone back yet.
There's ice crystals in my freezer. They feel furry. I imagine that's how snowflakes would feel.
My bagel dog was being a bitch and refused to come out of its package until it had ripped at least three times. I lived on bagel dogs and frozen burritos this summer, they don't seem quite as appetizing anymore. But they sure are mighty convenient.
Tonight I'm off to the hippy gathering, I mean "Therapy by Association" thing. Hopefully it won't stink this time, literally, they should hand out free deodorant. Joey has to write an article on it for Haypress, but he doesn't want to. Maybe I'll bring a pen and paper and take down some quotes or something, at least write down the names of the bands and stuff. I can't wait to be on Haypress. I'm convinced that I am going to be Editor in Chief my senior year. I wish I could be an editor as a junior, but apparently that's not the way it works.
Another Friday, another math quiz. Fairly easy, but time consuming. We had a minimum day so we didn't have all that much time. Most kids didn't finish even though there were only 18 problems. She tricks us, she says it's going to be an 18 problem quiz, but each problem has at least two problems in it. One question had seven questions, three of which were graphs that required a table of values. It was probably worth ten points on its own.
I really should get cracking on the plans for Sunday's outing. I'm such a slacker. It's my own birthday party, geez.
I seem to have a hard time sticking to one topic.
Sea uwe leighter.
12/01/2004
All these things that I've done...
...If you can, hold on.
Ich liebe The Killers.
Recently there has been a revival of some songs I haven't listened to in quite awhile. Such as, "Nobody Likes Me" by Sloppy Meateaters;
Friday night, I'm goin' online
Gonna find a girl and make her all mine
She could be fat, she could be ugly
I don't really care 'cause I'm feelin' kinda lonely
And then there's "Lipstick" by Guttermouth;
Mommy, you're so worthless, you're lazy, you're stupid
A little overweight
Now give me twenty bucks
No make it fifty bucks
I don't think I have to quote it, but Bright Eyes' "Blue Christmas" has been on repeat, along with Death Cab For Cutie's "The New Year." I love the holiday season because I can listen to Christmas carols and sing them all day long.
It's been rather cold lately, but I don't mind it very much. It sure makes for a pretty scene at school. With the sun shining through the fog onto the icy field, it all feels rather festive. I like seeing everyone in scarves and jackets finally, not many miniskirts and tank tops left.
Carolyn, my dear, are you back from Utah yet? I guess I should call, I have no idea if she has been to this site since I showed it to her. I have no idea how we're going to fit everyone in the cars and drive out to Milpitas. I guess it doesn't have to be
completely legal, I mean, we fit eleven people in the van and drove all the way to Pacifica. Ah, Pacifica, I miss those shows, well, the good ones.
That reminds me, The Matches at Imusicast in Oakland on December 18th. Anyone up for it? Sorry, Aya already called dibs for being my dancing partner. She might share if you're nice.
I feel productive today. I stenciled a shirt for me and worked on Leighlahnie's. I came up with four different options. I think I'll post my favorite one in a minute. But, I'll make it appear below this one because I can.
Edit: Apparently, I can't post it at all. It might show up at the top of the page, twice.
To the tune of Block Flag's "TV Party," here's my outro:
We're gonna have a VD party tonight.
