Jenna's former blog. It will still be here, but she will not be here.
Today was another good day.
And my weekend was productive.
Today when I got home I saw an envelope with my name on it. My mom said she found it in the glove compartment. I opened it and found a Mr. Potato Head birthday card from my aunt and uncle with $30 in it. The card threw me off, I thought it was really old or something. But it was in the car we got this year, so it was my most recent birthday. I guess they gave it to my parents late and someone forgot about it. It was a nice surprise.
And my dad fixed the overhead light in my room. I can see again! My lamp had been too dim to be very useful, but too bright to be considered a night light or reading lamp. Now I have a brand new fixture and everything. It was scary watching him take it apart. The wiring in this house is pretty bad. I'm sure the only reason the place hasn't burned down yet is because it all runs on one fuse and there isn't enough power to start a fire. And there's a crescent of pink ceiling around it because the new one is smaller. I just stood on my bed to get a better look at the layers of paint. I think every room in this house has been pink at one point, and some form of turquoise. Even the outside had a layer of turquoise. That's what you get with a 60+ year old house. Even if my room was a later addition. Have I mentioned there's no drywall to be found in my room? It's all particle board. I have trouble keeping thumbtacks in because the hole gets loose if I try to put it back. I bet the only thing keeping the walls up is the almost 1/4 inch thick layer of paint coats.
I think I'm going to go look for the blow dryer so I can heat-set my shoes so I can wear them tomorrow.
