Jenna's former blog. It will still be here, but she will not be here.
NO NO NO NONONONONONONONO. NO.
Daily Review article. We can't switch over to the period system. It will make our not-so-esteemed course offerings even crappier; less--if any--AP classes, the minimum amount of art classes, less languages, and they'll probably even close THE LAST shop class in our district. Plus, there probably wouldn't be a beginning journalism class, so the newspaper staff would be taught everything in like 2 weeks. And most kids could never get past precalculus, even if they pass every math class they take. Classes like psychology and ethnic studies would be gone.
Kids who graduate from the school after four years of the period system will only have the bare minimum amount of credits that are required to get into college, not even the recommended. And that's only if they pass every single class they take.
And this year's juniors who need more than 60 credits after this term won't be able to graduate on time.
Maybe we should do what the teachers did, stand outside before 1st block with signs and such, handing out papers to parents explaining to them what will happen to their child's education and urging them to contact the district. Anyone with me? I'd do the sit-in thing in the cafeteria, but I can't miss anatomy.
